Enter the Mossberg 590 Shockwave: a shotgun that looks straight out of an action movie with its bird’s head grip. Practical? Eh, not really. Cool? Absolutely. Finding a place to shoot it was its own adventure since most indoor ranges insist on a shoulder stock. Challenge accepted.
Then, I decided to up my game and add a pistol to the mix. After some research and drooling over reviews, I landed on the Glock 45 Gen 5. Why? Because it’s got the perfect blend—the compact grip of the Glock 19 paired with the full-size frame of the Glock 17. Basically, the best of both worlds.
First step: safety lesson. Check. Next: the range. With the iron sights, I was hitting my target at 15 feet every time. But when I upgraded to a red dot sight? Game. Changer. I was putting bullets through bullet holes and even grouping shots at 30 feet. Who knew shooting could be this satisfying?
Now, shooting has turned into a bit of a family affair. Luca got so into it that we surprised him with his own Glock for his birthday. Let’s just say the range is our new happy place.
